Martina Sommer has always been interested in de-cluttering, interior design and renovating. As a teenager, Martina often helped friends and family with interior decorating and redecorating projects as a hobby. A series of relocations as an adult brought additional insight and skills in the art of clearing clutter and simplifying life. She also drew inspiration from her grandmother – a great woman who had relocated ten times and managed her household with smart ideas until her recent death at the age of 95.
This practical expertise is complemented and enhanced by Martina’s professional experience as an executive assistant in the fields of event management and business development and organization, and as a certified training supervisor for apprentices. Through these professions, Martina developed an eye for detail and a knack for organizing that helps her clients focus on the things that matter most to them.
Wanting to share her natural talent and growing skills in simplifying life and creating more beautiful, functional spaces, Martina decided to follow her passion and started her own business, Open Space in 2004.
Based in Halifax, Martina offers you a unique approach to de-cluttering, influenced by her European background and culture. She works with you - at your pace - helping you to get in touch with your clutter and, by doing so, get in touch with yourself. Over the years more and more small business owners worked with her to streamline their home offices and business ventures.
With Martina’s support and guidance, you will be able to easily decide what you want to keep and what you don’t, freeing up space in your home, and in your life, for new ideas and interests.
Martina has been featured in the spring 2005 issue of Lifestyle Nova Scotia Magazine and on Global Noon.
